As we operate without a receptionist, please allow time for us to respond to your request.

Telephone Requests

If you leave a voicemail requesting an appointment, we will attempt to call you back once. We do not leave a message on your voicemail.

Please note that an appointment is only confirmed once we have agreed a date and time with you.

Appointment Confirmation and Patient Responsibility Policy

Purpose
This policy ensures that patients receive clear information about their appointment date and time and understand their responsibility for keeping a record of their appointment.

1. Appointment Confirmation

When an appointment is booked, the clinic will provide the patient with one of the following:

  • An appointment card given to the patient at the time of booking; or
  • An appointment confirmation email, where the patient has opted in to receive email communications.

The patient is responsible for keeping their appointment card or confirmation email and checking the appointment details carefully.

2. Patient Responsibility

Patients are responsible for remembering their appointment date and time and attending at the agreed time.

Patients should check their appointment card or confirmation email before attending the clinic.

If a patient does not have their appointment card or confirmation email, they should contact the clinic before attending to confirm the appointment details.

3. Attending on the Wrong Date or Time

If a patient attends the clinic on a different date or at a different time from the appointment that was booked, the clinic cannot be held responsible where the correct appointment details were provided to the patient.

Where an appointment card or confirmation email was provided, the appointment details stated on that document will be considered the confirmed appointment.

The clinic will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the patient where possible; however, this cannot be guaranteed and may result in the appointment needing to be rearranged.

4. Appointment Times

We make every effort to keep to our appointment schedule. However, due to the nature of healthcare, some appointments may require additional time to ensure patients receive the care they need. As a result, there may occasionally be delays of 10–15 minutes.

We appreciate your patience and understanding if this happens. If we anticipate a longer delay, we will do our best to keep you informed.

5. Changes to Appointments

If a patient wishes to change or rearrange an appointment, they should contact the clinic in advance. Changes are subject to the clinic's cancellation and rescheduling policy.

6. Clinic Responsibility

The clinic will make reasonable efforts to ensure that appointment details are accurately recorded and communicated to the patient.

If the clinic makes an error in recording or communicating an appointment, the matter will be investigated and addressed appropriately.

Important: Patients are encouraged to keep their appointment card or confirmation email until their appointment has taken place.

7. Cancellation List

If Richmond Footcare is fully booked, patients may choose to be added to our cancellation list.

If an appointment becomes available due to a cancellation, we will contact patients on the cancellation list and offer the appointment where possible.

Appointments will be offered based on availability and suitability, and being on the cancellation list does not guarantee that an earlier appointment will become available.

If you would like to be added to the cancellation list, please let us know when booking your appointment.

Home Visit Podiatry Policy

We are pleased to offer a convenient home visit service for patients who are unable to attend our clinic.

Home Visit Times

Home visits are available between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Appointments are approximately 30 minutes in duration.

To allow us to accommodate patients safely and efficiently, please note that the time provided is an estimated appointment time rather than a guaranteed arrival time.

Arrival Times

We understand that punctuality is important. However, when providing home visits, our clinicians may occasionally arrive up to 30 minutes earlier or later than the scheduled time.

This may be due to:

  • Traffic and road conditions
  • Delays caused by previous patient appointments
  • Unexpected circumstances during an earlier home visit
  • Parking or access difficulties

We will always do our best to arrive as close to your scheduled time as possible. If we anticipate a significant delay, we will make every effort to contact you and keep you informed.

If we arrive slightly earlier than expected, we will only begin the appointment at a time that is convenient for you.

Please confirm your address via text to 075 111 119 84 when booking so that we can confirm the correct home visit fee before your appointment.

Patient Preparation

Please ensure that:

  • Someone is available at the property at the agreed appointment time.
  • The clinician has safe and suitable access to your home.
  • There is a suitable, well-lit area where treatment can be carried out comfortably and safely.
  • Any pets are kept safely away from the treatment area during the appointment.
  • Please refrain from smoking or vaping during the home visit and while the clinician is present. This helps us maintain a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.

Cancellations and Changes

We kindly ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a home visit. Our standard cancellation policy and applicable fees will apply to late cancellations and missed appointments.

We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding the occasional variation in arrival times. Our priority is to provide every patient with safe, professional and high-quality podiatry care.

Thank you for choosing our home visit service.
